So today we were supposed to be leaving the EU (we haven't!) and I was supposed to be launching my first ever blog. I'm pleased to report that my blog will definitely be up and running ASAP and it isn't dependent on negotiations, deals or back stops so all is well : )

Having turned 40 only 2 days ago I am still on birthday cake and cookies for breakfast, lunch and dinner so, high on sugar, I was raring to go on this very springlike morning. I visited my old art group to see how they were getting on with their T-shirt designs and screen printing. It was lovely to see them all, however I sensed a great deal of stress in the room. I supported and encouraged as best as I could before leaving feeling positive, glad to have made the effort to be sociable and relieved that I was not formally involved in the group this year. This feeling of relative calm and contentment was, however, short lived as on returning to my car I found a parking fine attached to the windscreen. Suffice to say, stress levels skyrocketed! Apparently in the months that have passed since I was a member of the group, the parking rules have changed and I needed a PERMIT!! Much tears and desperation ensued but I somehow managed not to let it ruin my day...

On a more positive note, I received an email today from JIgsaw Family Support, the local charity that I used to volunteer with. I left the charity shop in February but due to some staffing changes they have now invited me back. I am really pleased and am planning to return after the upcoming Easter holidays.

The real achievement of today was managing to sketch a few logo ideas for the blog and making a decision on which to go for. Not wanting to burden my heavily stressed out art group, I consulted with my mum and my husband. It is starting to get exciting now!

Britain may not yet be out of the EU but I am certainly on my way out of the darkness...
