So the clocks have changed and we are now in British Summertime, yay! I am definitely more suited to longer, brighter days. The weather today has not let me down; it is a gloriously warm, sunny day again, as was yesterday. It is Mothering Sunday and my children brought me a beautiful spring flower bouquet to accompany my cup of tea in bed (daily, not restricted to Mother's Day! Lucky me!) ! I have saved and pressed some of the foliage to use in future art projects and will do the same with some of the flowers later in the week. The flowers may well inspire an art piece in the future; the colours are so bright and make me smile. I have taken photos for this purpose.

I was also gifted some art papers, a funky pencil sharpener and some cool paper clips...everyone is excited for my project to get started! My daughter has asked if my first art piece is under way yet. She is becoming concerned that I am already behind. Slapped wrist. I really should practice what I preach with regards to deadlines and the like. I do have a few ideas in mind for upcoming artwork incorporating brown paper, fabric scraps and bright yellow, black and white. I will see how these ideas develop in the coming days. I have also thought about putting my 40@40 logo on a T-shirt if I can enlist the help of my friends at the art group. It wouldn't be on the scale of their project, just on a personal level, an alternative to wearing old clothes while I'm painting; my own uniform if you like! I am quite keen to give the screen printing a go if I can simplify the logo sufficiently to make it possible without causing myself a nervous breakdown!

This evening I experimented with some blog templates before realising that I am going to need a LOT of support from my husband! It will be fine I am sure. I just need to start committing to it properly and not shying away from it. I guess I'm a bit of a scaredy cat at heart.
