Yesterday I made a trip to the mainland to see Mum and go to the Guildhall to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac. It was a gorgeous sunny day, beautiful weather for crossing The Solent. I was calm because it was just me on my own, no children to entertain or be responsible for. I'd used my NHS discount for the first time which was great, a proper bonus for the time I give to volunteering. Mum and I had a fantastic time. We both love Fleetwood Mac and have seen this tribute band before. They are brilliant and on this tour have included a set of the early stuff, paying tribute to Peter Green. I don't really know any of those songs but Mum remembered them from back in the day with my dad and their friends. I remember Dad telling me that he had gone to see Peter Green at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth on his own because his wife wouldn't go with him. That sounds about right! I wish he had asked me because I would have gone with him.

There were lots of very, merry people there last night, many of whom were dancing in the aisles. I had a particularly 'gobby' older lady behind me but despite that it was a brilliant night out. We are hoping to do it again next time they tour. The stage back drop has provided me with inspiration for another painting so that'

s an added bonus!

I stayed over at Mum's before heading back to the Island this morning on another gloriously sunny day. It felt like I was getting sun burnt walking down the pier; it definitely feels like summer is on the way! Hooray...
