Last night I I was shocked to learn of the death of the Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, aged just 40. She has had a terrible time lately and the press and social media have not made this any easier by all accounts. I am not on social media so have no experience of the awful trolling that goes on. It is a huge worry, particularly when you consider and are aware of how fragile some people are and the mental health problems that may exist without anyone knowing about them.
This news sent shivers down my spine when I read the headline. It is so tragic that she has taken her own life. Such a terrible waste of a beautiful life. She always seemed so happy and joyful in her job and as viewers of her shows, including Love Island and The Xtra Factor, it's hard to accept that she won't be on our TVs anymore.
In The Guardian today there was an article about Caroline and it quoted an Instagram post that she had put out sometime last year. As I read her words it reminded me of words I'd written myself in this blog, almost the exact same sentiment...I wonder if she suffered with similar kinds of problems that I have lived with over the years.
