Today was a busy day! I looked after the children this morning while R took my car into the garage to get the wing mirror fixed finally. It was really hard sourcing one to fit my model. When we eventually found one online it was much more expensive than I had hoped and then cost even more to be painted silver! T recommended a garage in Newport to get it fitted. R was able to walk into town to get some work done whilst the car was with the mechanics. It was a very tricky task apparently, taking the best part of 4 hours (the mirror has an indicator light so there were electrics involved!) and requiring the door to be taken off! They charged me for 2 hours labour so I got a pretty good deal considering.

Whilst all that was going on I played some games with F while E kept herself busy. I also baked chocolate banana cakes. In the afternoon we headed over to the caravan as the holiday park is now open and we are trying to gradually reintroduce the caravan into our lives. We managed to fit in time to play cards, a walk to the beach to skim stones, vegetarian spaghetti bolognese for tea and stripping the beds. Unfortunately the football pitch was busy both times when we walked past so F didn't get to have a kick about but we will aim to do that next time when we will plan for an overnight visit.

This week I have been trying to get in touch with a local mental health charity/organisation who I was all set to volunteer with last year. Sadly, I never heard anything back from them after a successful interview and handing in all my application forms and evidence for DBS. Due to my BPD I take things like this very personally, so I assumed they didn't want me after all. I didn't want to hassle or beg them to take me on so I just let it go and focused on the other things I had going on. It was around the same time that my application to volunteer with Children's Services got underway and also my training for the Care Home job. In addition to all the training, I ended up working a paid, Seasonal role in Tesco from November until the New Year so I was incredibly busy.

Anyway, due to Covid-19 my Children's Services role never took off, despite having completed all my training by the start of March. Similarly, my NHS role was put on hold as soon as we were put into lockdown. The problem is, now that lockdown is lifting, I am feeling that I need to get back out there and start working towards achieving things and helping people again. Hence why I have reached out again as I know they are beginning to reopen the centre. Today I heard back from a new member of staff who has recently taken on the role of Volunteer Coordinator and she was very apologetic about the fact that my application wasn't fully processed back in October. She is going to attempt to locate my forms and get back to me with a view to me volunteering in a 'Meet and Greet' type of role. I'm really excited and so glad to have finally heard back from them in a positive way.

I am also beginning to think of ideas for my next piece of art #22.

Yoga for today was 'Yoga for the Root Chakra'.
