This morning I spent another half hour working on this piece. I found an old diary (2001) that I had kept all these years for the inspirational quotes printed on the pages! I tore off a few scraps which included the date of when this piece was created. I then experimented with where to put them and considered whether they were actually a worthwhile addition to the piece. In the end I felt that they added to this 'abstract landscape' quite significantly and was happy with their positioning which cemented the orientation of the piece. My husband and daughter felt that it should have been slightly more rotated but I think this works now and definitely has the look of an abstract landscape. I used black fine liners to mark out some lines which add further interest to the middle distance and the sky...I am undecided as to whether these look more like telephone wires or the longitude lines you would see on a globe or map! Feel free to make up your own mind and do let me know what you think...
