So this was the day we were supposed to leave the EU. This date had stuck in my mind because I started the blog on March 29th, the original date for this monumental event - Brexit. Back then the clocks were winding forwards into summertime and I was full of positivity for the year ahead; my art project and blog were supposed to add purpose and meaning to my life and distract me from the disappointment that job-hunting brings. Sadly this has not been the case and here I am now fully immersed once more in searching and applying for jobs. Art used to bring me joy and pleasure, an escape from the difficulties I faced in life. Now I just feel the extreme weight of this blog and the project as I am faced with the prospect of it failing. An art exhibition space has been provisionally booked for August 2020 but even this isn't enough to get me back into the throes of planning, painting and creating. I feel completely lost but I hope in the coming weeks (as the days shorten again) that I can find comfort in my art as I cosy up in my caravan for the winter. Let's hope I can turn things around, with more success than the British Government have with the Brexit fiasco. Here's a thought...my blog may well conclude before we have left the EU. I didn't see that coming in March!
