For this next canvas board I have taken inspiration from a quilt artist on Pinterest. I have lots of ideas on my boards which come from art journalling and quilt/textile design. Until now I haven't really used any of these ideas to inspire my work so I thought now might be a good time to start.
The piece I have chosen almost looks like a painting in itself. I was really drawn to it, particularly the use of lime green. In my interpretation of this piece I have chosen to use purple. I made a conscious decision not to blatantly copy it (I prefer to take inspiration from others and see where that leads me as opposed to simply recreating something) so green was off limits. I would usually use black to define areas or mark things out but I think it is the purple used here which makes me really love what I have created today.
It was relatively easy and quick to design despite the initial set back of not having my circular stencils to hand. I have still not unearthed all my art materials as access to the garage is still impossible. My art supplies remain out of sight but are never far from my mind! Luckily my son came to the rescue, kindly offering me use of his Spirograph set which had some shape stencils, including circles of various sizes! Fantastic result, it made things easier and meant I could discard the lid of my '4Head' stick, a mini roll of tape and various other bits and pieces I had gathered to use as substitutes!
My yoga for today was a.m: Sunrise Yoga and Yoga for a Healthy Body and p.m: Fingers, hands and wrist care and 7 minute Bedtime Yoga.
