This morning I remembered a song that I had woken up singing one morning not long after my dad had died in 2016. It was just a few words from the lyrics going round in my head but having Googled them I discovered they were from a song by Talking Heads called 'And She Was'. Ever since then it has reminded me of my dad and inspired me to do things that are out of my comfort zone (not something I am particularly good at but I do try!) So having had this song spring into my consciousness again today it occurred to me that I could use it as inspiration for the name of my blog! It meant the logo work I did yesterday was somewhat wasted, although it may still be utilised within the blog in some form or another, just not in the name.

So that was it settled '...and she was an artist' is to be the name of my blog. Following recommendation from my mum I spent an hour or so today on '1001freefonts.com' where I enjoyed checking out a vast array of potential fonts and started to feel quite nervous about the prospect of actually doing this for real. It was a brilliant moment when I stumbled across the perfect font but there was a tiny bit that wasn't working for me (the dot of the i was touching the t in 'artist'. I enlisted the support of my husband and we played around with the words and letters in different sizes until it occurred to me to try a capital 'T' to see if that made a difference. It did, but it still didn't look right! Then I had a brainwave to try the 'art' in 'artist' in capitals. And there it was. My blog name and branding completed! It was a great feeling. Now I just need to get the website set up. Can't be too hard, can it?!
