One thing I've noticed this Mental Health Awareness Week is that it has been really well supported on TV and radio. In particular the Pause for Thought item on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show seemed to mention mental health every day this past week and other DJs including Steve Wright and Jeremy Vine had guests on discussing issues such as depression and anxiety. Zoe ball herself has gone to great lengths to raise awareness of mental ill health in the past (BBC Sport Relief Cycling Challenge 2018) since it is something that, in her own words, 'is very close to my heart'. There have been a series of programmes on the BBC featuring celebrities who have lived with and overcome MH problems. I am yet to see these but I am very keen to see the Nadiya Hussain one on anxiety. She has talked openly about her anxiety several times since her success on The Bake Off back in 2015 including on the 'John Bishop: In Conversation with...' programme. I think she is a wonderful human being! Once I have watched these new BBC documentaries I will return to this topic...
I am currently experiencing quite a difficult spell of anxiety regarding an event that I am attending tomorrow with my daughter. It is complex and not at all easy to talk about but in the coming days I will attempt to share some of my thoughts and feelings.
