I started today by outlining the rainbow with Sharpie pen. This did lift the colour somewhat but I still felt that it needed to be painted to give the vibrancy that a rainbow deserves. Once that was done I had to decide on how and where I would put the NHS letters. This was quite a lengthy decision and it wasn't easy to execute either due to the angle required for the positioning of the letters; it wasn't possible to use a stencil. I traced my letters from the left hand side to re-use on the other side but even that wasn't particularly successful! I wanted to add some form of rainbow to the hearts so went for a kind of dangling effect on the left and then reversed it for the heart on the right. I used Sharpie pen in a stippling effect on the NHS letters.

In order to create a brick wall effect around the window frame I had to get my thinking cap on! I tried printing with a small block of foam but it smudged too much and the results would have been messy and not to my standards. I had a quick scout around my son's room and sneaked away a tiny piece of his Lego. It worked perfectly in creating a brick effect, yay! It took a while to do it all and I had to mix the brick colour myself using a few different acrylics which is always stressful, particularly if you don't mix enough the first time! It was worth all the stress though as the result is rather fantastic! The final task for this piece was to paint the STAY HOME message on the front. The only sad thing about this piece is that I can't display it in the window like everybody else can because I need to keep it for my exhibition and if it goes in the window it will fade in the sunlight!! Such a shame.

I have decided today that I need to find a way to exercise to feel better physically and mentally during this lockdown and to make up for the lack of swimming which I love and miss so much. So I took R's advice and went on You Tube to find Yoga. I had no idea what I would find but it was so easy...the first video option that came up was 'Yoga with Adriene' and I really love her. I had never heard of her before today but find her style of teaching and the videos really natural and warm and welcoming. So as of today I will be doing daily yoga practice. She has so many videos available and I shall enjoy choosing a different one each day depending on how I am feeling or how much time I have.

Today I went for 'Morning Yoga - Energizing Sequence' and then this evening I did the 'Yoga for Flexibility'.
