I spent what seemed like days collaging the two blue NHS hearts. On completion of that I closed the windows/shutters and began working on the front of this piece. It required a coat of white paint to begin with, followed by the sketching of a window frame, curtains and a full rainbow! I then had to decide which words or message to include and draw out those letters onto the design. I chose 'Stay Home' and adapted an alphabet set from my daughter's stencil book. I knew I wanted blue curtains and I added a dainty heart design freehand to really ramp up the NHS love! I mixed up a very pale watercolour for the background and initially used colouring pencils for the rainbow and curtains. It is very subtle at this point but I think I will get the Sharpie pens or acrylics onto it tomorrow!
