02/07/19 - Painting # 8 and #9 Finished, Painting #10 Started and Finished!

It is three months to the day since I started #1. I've reached my target of being a quarter of the way through and having a quarter of the paintings done (10/40) Perfect. I've finished #8 today and I do like it, I just wish that I'd not added the blue. In fact, I'm now thinking I wish I'd stuck to the original colours of bright yellow and bright blue. Perhaps I can come back and tackle this one again later in the project.

Today I also worked on #10 which was created alongside #8 because I used up some of my paints as I hate wasting them. I experimented again with the palette knife as I'd not done this since 2016 (Kline's Way) I'm not sure I've got the technique right yet but I really enjoyed adding collage pieces to this. I've incorporated my daughter's handwriting by using bits from an old school worksheet/handout. Conveniently she had written the number 40 and circled the number 10. Perfect for this piece.

#9 is one I've been adding to since #4. I've stopped adding to it today and put it in a frame. I always seem to do too much to my paintings and end up not liking them. This now being behind glass means it should be safe from my pesky fingers!
